Abstract

Everyone has different activities with different risks and often gets injured. Since wound healing process takes time, better handling and alternative medicinal administration are needed to accelerate the health recovery from trauma caused either by sharp or hard materials.  Fish are high nutritive food enriched with minerals, fat, and protein. This study was intended to know the effect of snakehead fish extract on the healing process of white rat (Rattus novergicus). It applied an experimental method with 3 treatments. Results showed that fish pudding added with the snakehead fish extract gave good effect on the acceleration of wound healing process in the white rat.

Abstract

Setiap orang memiliki kegiatan dan aktivitas yang berbeda-beda, setiap aktivitas dan kegiatan seseorang pasti memiliki resikonya masing-masing. Mengingat dalam proses penyembuhan luka membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama untuk proses penyebuhannya maka dibutuhkan penanganan yang baik, serta alternatif pengobatan yang mungkin bisa membantu mempercepat pemulihan kesehatan tubuh dalam hal penyembuhan luka, yang disebabkan trauma oleh benda tajam atau benda tumpul yang membuat bagian tubuh terluka. Ikan merupakan bahan pangan dengan nilai gizi tinggi karena kandungan mineral, vitamin, lemak dan proteinnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat pengaruh pemberian puding dengan ekstrak ikan family Channidae pada proses penyembuhan luka tikus putih (Rattus novergicus). Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah eksperiment dengan tiga perlakuan. Dari penelitian yang sudah dilaksanakan bahwa pudding ikan dengan penambahan ekstrak ikan toman dan ikan gabus memberikan pengaruh dalam percepatan penyembuhan luka pada hewan uji tikus.
